# CMMME Prima Firmware Updater 2.0.17

This package performs a complete, offline factory flash of a CMMME Prima ESP32.
It includes the precompiled firmware, bootloader, partition table, web interface,
and the flashing utility. Arduino IDE, Python, and internet access are not needed.

## Before you begin

1. Disconnect DCC and the external 5 V supply from the Prima.
2. Connect the Prima to the Windows PC with a data-capable USB cable. USB must be
the board's only power source during the update.
3. Close Arduino Serial Monitor and any other program using the board's COM port.

## Install the update

1. Extract the ZIP file before running the updater.
2. Run `CMMME-Prima-Updater-2.0.17.exe`.
3. Select the Prima USB/COM connection.
4. Read and tick both safety confirmations.
5. Select **Install firmware 2.0.17** and leave USB connected until success is
shown. The updater checks the ESP32, erases it, writes every image, and verifies
   the written data.

This is a complete factory flash. All existing Prima settings and Wi-Fi details
are erased. Configure the unit again after the update.

The updater does not install drivers, connect to Wi-Fi, or change the PC's network
settings. If no COM port appears, install the driver supplied for the USB serial
chip on your board or try another data-capable USB cable.

## Windows security prompt

This utility is not digitally code-signed. Windows SmartScreen may therefore show
an "unrecognised app" warning. Verify the SHA-256 checksum supplied in
`SHA256SUMS.txt`, then use **More info > Run anyway** if you trust the package.
