Troubleshooting
DCC-EX can work well with JMRI for layout control, DecoderPro programming and WiThrottle-style operation. A typical setup uses a DCC EX CSB1 command station connected to a computer or a Raspberry Pi preloaded with JMRI.
Basic JMRI hardware route
- A DCC-EX command station such as the CSB1.
- A suitable power supply for your layout.
- A computer or Raspberry Pi running JMRI.
- Optional WiFi throttle devices such as phones or tablets.
Why use a Raspberry Pi?
A dedicated Raspberry Pi can keep JMRI available near the layout without tying up your everyday computer. It is useful for permanent layouts, club layouts and wireless throttle setups.
